Creating a QES file from an ADO compatible ODBC database (AskiaTools)

Use this feature to create a *.QES file from a database which was built using an ADO engine, such as  Microsoft Access (*.mdb or *.accdb), Microsoft Excel (*.xls or *.xlsx), Oracle, or custom-built databases.

To access this feature, open the file menu and select import, then database (ADO).... The following window appears:

First, specify the ADO connection string (i.e. the path to the database you wish to convert). Then select one of the listed tables or queries. Specify the Askia target file (you need to name the new *.QES file that will be created, and specify where it is to be saved). Specify the desired settings, as described below, and click OK.

Into inverted data format

If this option is selected, the data will be imported in inverted format, which makes data analysis in AskiaAnalyse and AskiaVista much faster when dealing with large amounts of data.

Max number of responses

Indicates the maximum number of responses, above which the imported question will be considered a closed question.

Max number of discrete values

Indicates the maximum number of discrete values, above which the imported question will be considered a numerical question.
