This option allows you to create a numeric question that will contain the duration, in seconds, of each interview collected with Askia's CATI, CAPI, or CAWI tools.
AskiaField records the time spent by the respondent on each input screen. Where a screen contains only one question, the time he/she spends on the screen is of course recorded as the amount of time spent on that question. Where several questions appear on the same screen, the time spent on that screen is divided by the number of questions (e.g. if the respondent spends three minutes on a screen with three questions, a time of one minute is recorded for each).
To access this feature, in the edit menu select create a variable..., then select from entry duration. You can drag individual questions from the tree into the name list or click add all the questions to place all available questions into the list.
You can also ignore the response duration if it is greater than a specific value (to avoid having a high mean and high standard deviation). To do so, enter the value in ignore response duration when >.
