Use this feature to define custom labels on your chart. To access it, when viewing a chart, right-click and select labels. The labels window appears.
As you change the settings for the chart, a preview of the chart style is shown at the bottom of the window.
In the label list at the top left, select the label you wish to change. Note that by default, no labels are present on your chart, and you will need to add at least one to access the other tabs.
Use the following commands to add or remove labels:

This tab allows you to set the overall appearance of the selected label.
Caption: Enter the text for the label here.
X: Enter the horizontal position of the label here.
Y: Enter the vertical position of the label here.
Horizontal align: Use this property to set the horizontal position of the text, relative to the entire chart.
Vertical align: Use this property to set the vertical position of the text, relative to the entire chart.
Backpane visible: Select this option to show the label's background (in other words, any fill color, gradient, texture, or pattern you have defined will be visible). Clear (de-select) this option to display the label text only, without a background.
This tab allows you to set the appearance of the label's text.
Facename: Select the font you want to use for the text.
Colour: Select the font colour.
Size: Select the font size.

Font emphasis (bold, italic, underline): Select font emphasis as required (bold, italic or underline).
2D text: Select this option to display two-dimensional (standard) text.
Offset X: Adjust this number to move the text horizontally. This option is available only if you select 2D text (see above).
Offset Y: Adjust this number to move the text vertically. This option is available only if you select 2D text (see above).
Orientation: Enter the angle (in degrees) at which you want the text to appear. For example, to display the text on its side, you might enter 90. This option is available only if you select 2D text (see above).
3D text: Select this option to display the text with three-dimensional effects.
Rotation: Change the value here to adjust the position of the text. This option is available only if you select 3D text (see above).
Elevation: Change the value here to adjust the position of the text. This option is available only if you select 3D text (see above).
Distance: Change the value here to adjust the position of the text. This option is available only if you select 3D text (see above).
Rotation around: X: Enter the angle (in degrees) you want to rotate the text on the X plane). This option is available only if you select 3D text (see above).
Rotation around: Y: Enter the angle (in degrees) you want to rotate the text on the Y plane). This option is available only if you select 3D text (see above).
Rotation around: Z: Enter the angle (in degrees) you want to rotate the text on the Z plane). This option is available only if you select 3D text (see above).
Extrusion: Enter a small value (such as 0.1) to "stretch" the individual characters in the text. This option is available only if you select 3D text (see above).
Horizontal align: Use this property to set the position of the text, relative to the label.
Vertical align: Use this property to set the position of the text, relative to the label.
This tab allows you to set the colour and shading of the label.
Fill effects: Specifies how the label's background will be filled (with solid colour, a custom gradient, a texture from an image file, a repeated pattern, or merge all effects, which is a combination of all four fill methods). You can set further options for gradients, textures and patterns in the appropriate tabs. Note: colour or shading options have an effect only if backpane visible is selected on the label tab.
Transparency: Determines how transparent the data series is. By using the slider, you can set the data series to be solid, completely transparent, or anything in between. Note that if the data series still has a border, set on the border tab, its outline will still be visible.
Colour: If solid colour is selected in fill effects, this option determines the colour of the label.
Mapping: Specifies the type of mapping used to apply the fill effect.
Lay-out: Determines how the fill effect is fitted to the label.
X-Scale: Specifies the scaling to be used along the X dimension for the label's background fill effect.
Y-Scale: Specifies the scaling to be used along the Y dimension for the label's background fill effect.
Rotation: Specifies the rotation angle to be used for the label's background texture.
Black texture background: If this option is selected, any parts of the label not covered by the fill effect will be filled in black. If it is not selected, they will be filled according to the colour specified in the colour option (see above).
This tab, which is available only if you select gradient or merge all effects in fill effects on the color tab, allows you to set the details of the color gradient for the label.
backpane visible is selected on the label tab.Begin: Select the colour with which you wish to begin the gradient. For example, if you want the gradient to run from green to white, you would select green here.
End: Select the colour with which you wish to end the gradient. For example, if you want the gradient to run from green to white, you would select white here.
Shading styles: Select the direction in which you want the gradient to run.
Variants: Select the specific pattern of shading. The available choice depends upon the selection you made in shading styles.
This tab, which is available only if you select texture or merge all effects in fill effects on the color tab, allows you to set a background texture for the selected label.
backpane visible is selected on the label tab.File: Nominate the image file you want to use to fill the label. The file must be in Windows Bitmap (BMP), JPEG or GIF format.
This tab, which is available only if you select pattern or merge all effects in fill effects on the color tab, allows you to set a repeating pattern for the selected label.
backpane visible is selected on the label tab.Foreground: Select the pattern's foreground colour.
Background: Select the pattern's background colour.
Patterns: Select the pattern with which you want to fill the label.
This tab, allows you to set colour effects for the label.
Ambient color: The ambient colour to be applied to the label. Ambient colour has no discernible source, so is even across the label. Adding ambient colour will usually make the label brighter.
Diffuse color: The diffuse colour to be applied to the label. Diffuse colour comes from a particular direction.
Specular color: The specular colour to be applied to the label. Specular light comes from a specific direction and bounces off the label surface in a specific direction.
Emissive color: The emissive colour to be applied to the label. Emissive colour emanates from the label itself.
Shininess: Determines the shininess of the colour applied to the label.
This tab allows you to control the appearance of the borders around the selected label.
Style: Select the line style (e.g. dotted or solid).
Width: Select the line width.
Color: Select the line colour.
