Use this feature in AskiaTools to execute edits routings in a *.QES file or SQL database. It enables you to create or update a variable you require for data analysis after the survey's fieldwork has been completed.
An edits routing is a routing instruction with the edits option selected in the execute property in AskiaDesign's routing mode. Edits routings are never executed during interviewing, but only when you choose to run them with the run the edits command in askiatools.
Run the edits executes any routings whose execute property is set to edits in AskiaDesign. You can run edits as follows:
on all interviews;
on the first N interviews (you specify N, which is the number of interviews on which you want to run the edits);
selected edits (you can choose which edits to run).
To begin the process, in the tools menu, select run the edits, then the appropriate sub-option, according to which interview you want to edit, as follows:
on all interviews: all edit routings will be executed, on all interview records.on the first N inteviews: all edit routings will be executed, on a specific number of records, starting with the first one. Enter the number of interviews on which you want to run the edits, and click OK.on selected edits: you can choose which edits will be run; they will be executed on all interviews. Check (select) the edits you want to run, and click start edits.
