Use this function to execute verification edit routings that you have defined in AskiaDesign. These can be used to perform data checking (on randomly generated data) prior to fieldwork, in order to test the routing instructions in your questionnaire. Ideally, one person would write the survey, and a different person would write the error checking routings.
This command will evaluate and execute all routings whose execution time property is set to edits, ad whose action type is show message. The condition defined as the message "text" is run by AskiaTools. Note that the before and after execution time options need to be cleared (de-selected), to prevent the message being displayed during interviewing. An example of a verification edit is as follows:
Q1 has 1 and Q2 = 1, error in routing
To begin the process of running the edits in AskiaTools, in the tools menu, select run the verification edits.... Select one or more edits, and click start edits. The edits are run, and if the scripts found any errors, a log file is displayed listing all of the interviews which failed and the reasons for failure.
