Creating a QES file from a Triple-S classic (SSS) file (AskiaTools)

Use this feature to convert a triple-S (.SSS) file into a new QES file.

To access this feature, open the file menu and select import, then Triple-S, then classic. The Triple-S import dialog appears:

Specify the Askia target file (i.e. name the new *.QES file, and specify where it is to be saved). Indicate the path to your *.sss source file. Finally, click OK.

The available options are:

OPtion Description

Askia target file

Type the path and filename of the output file (where the data will be stored), or click ... and specify the path and filename in the file dialog.

Triple-S source file

Type the path and filename of the source file or click ... and select the file.

System DK caption

You can, optionally, specify a caption that will be recognised in the source file as equivalent to the Askia system's DK response. Instances of this caption will therefore be imported into the *.QES file as DK items.

Group all DKs in system modality

If this option is selected, multiple DK modalities (separated by the ; character) will be grouped together into the system DK code (-1), rather than changing the modality base type.

Into inverted data format

If this option is selected, the data will be inverted on import. Inverted format makes data analysis in askiaanalyse and askiavista much faster when dealing with large amounts of data.

Note: AskiaTools will also import the triple-S file’s data-map specified in the *.asc file. Therefore, make sure the relevant *.asc file is in the same folder as the source *.sss file.
