Use this feature to define the appearance of the walls (edges and background) of your chart. To access it, when viewing a chart, right-click and select walls. The walls window appears.
As you change the settings for the chart, a preview of the chart style is shown at the bottom of the window.
In the walls list at the top left, select the wall you wish to change. Select a specific wall as follows:
Background: The background of the entire area surrounding the chart.
Left: The left edge of the table.
Back: The background of the table.
Right: The right edge of the table.
Front: The front of the table.
Floor: The bottom edge of the table.
Use the following tabs to edit the selected wall:
This tab allows you to set the overall appearance of the selected wall.
Visible: Select this option to display the selected wall. Clear (de-select) this option to hide the wall.
Style: Select the shape of the wall (it must have width set to 1 or above for this to take effect).
Width: Specify the wall's width.
Edge percent: When style is set to smooth edge bar, this option determines the size of the bars as a percentage of whichever dimension is greater (width or depth).
Bottom edge: If selected, the bottom edge will be displayed (its appearance depends on whether style is set to cut edge bar or smooth edge bar). Note: This option applies only when style is set to Cut Edge Bar or Smooth Edge Bar.
Top edge: If selected, the bottom edge will be displayed (its appearance depends on whether style is set to cut edge bar or smooth edge bar). Note: This option applies only when style is set to cut edge bar or smooth edge bar.
This tab allows you to set the colour and shading of the wall.
Fill effects: Specifies how the wall will be filled (with solid colour, a custom gradient, a texture from an image file, a repeated pattern, or merge all effects, which is a combination of all four fill methods). You can set further options for gradients, textures and patterns in the appropriate tabs. Note: colour or shading options only have an effect if width is set to at least 1 on the wall tab.
Transparency: Determines how transparent the wall is. By using the slider, you can set the wall to be solid, completely transparent, or anything in between. Note that if the wall has a border set on the border tab, its outline will still be visible.
Colour: If solid colour is selected in fill effects, this option determines the colour of the wall.
Mapping: Specifies the type of mapping used to apply the fill effect.
Lay-out: Determines how the fill effect is fitted to the wall.
X-Scale: Specifies the scaling to be used along the X dimension for the wall's background fill effect.
Y-Scale: Specifies the scaling to be used along the Y dimension for the wall's background fill effect.
Rotation: Specifies the rotation angle to be used for the wall's background texture.
Black texture background: If this option is selected, any parts of the wall not covered by the fill effect will be filled in black. If it is not selected, they will be filled according to the colour specified in the colour option (see above).
This tab, which is available only if you select gradient or merge all effects in fill effects on the colour tab, allows you to set the details of the colour gradient for the wall.
width is set to at least 1 on the wall tab.Begin: Select the colour with which you wish to begin the gradient. For example, if you want the gradient to run from green to white, you would select green here.
End: Select the colour with which you wish to end the gradient. For example, if you want the gradient to run from green to white, you would select white here.
Shading styles: Select the direction in which you want the gradient to run.
Variants: Select the specific pattern of shading. The available choice depends upon the selection you made in shading styles.
This tab, which is available only if you select texture or merge all effects in fill effects on the colour tab, allows you to set a background texture for the selected wall.
width is set to at least 1 on the wall tab.File: Nominate the image file you want to use to fill the wall. The file must be in Windows Bitmap (BMP), JPEG or GIF format.
This tab, which is available only if you select pattern or merge all effects in fill effects on the color tab, allows you to set a repeating pattern for the selected wall.

Background: Select the pattern's background colour.
Patterns: Select the pattern with which you want to fill the wall.

Specular colour: The specular colour to be applied to the wall. Specular light comes from a specific direction and bounces off the wall surface in a specific direction.

Shininess: Determines the shininess of the colour applied to the wall.
This tab allows you to control the appearance of the borders around the selected wall.

Width: Select the line width.
