Distribution panel (AskiaVista)

Located at the bottom of the left-hand pane, the distribution panel displays a list of responses to the selected questions, along with the counts for each response. It allows you to quickly drag and drop specific responses into your table.

Note: if the setting hide distribution is selected in your user preferences, the distribution panel may be hidden entirely. If this is the case, you can reveal the panel by changing this setting.

To place a response item in your table, simply drag it from the panel into the rows, columns or edges. You can also drag and drop directly onto the table preview: when you do this, an image of the table appears, allowing you to drop the response onto one of the following areas:

You can select a group of adjacent responses by holding down SHIFT as you click, or multiple specific responses by holding down CTRL as you click.

Collapsing and expanding the panel

The panel can be collapsed to allow more space for other screen elements.

To collapse the panel:

  1. At the bottom of the left-hand pane, click Minimize/maximize:
    icn-collapse-normal%282%29
  2. The response Distribution panel is collapsed.

If the panel is collapsed, you can easily expand it again.

To expand the panel:

  1. At the bottom of the left-hand pane, click Minimize/maximize:
    icn-expand-normal(3)
  2. The response Distribution panel expands.

The default mode of the Distribution panel (collapsed or expanded) can be set with the Collapse distribution by default in the user preferences.

Note: as well as collapsing the panel, you can hide it entirely. To do so, select the option hide distribution in your user preferences.
