Importing fixed-length ASCII into an existing questionnaire (AskiaTools)

Use this feature to import interview data formatted in fixed-length ASCII into a QES file or SQL database.

To access this feature, ensure your QES or database is open. Then, open the file menu and select import data, then fixed-length-ASCII using. Select the sub-command simplified map... or detailed map... as appropriate.

Note: If the appropriate data map has not yet been defined, you will be asked if you want to define the data map now. Answer yes, and you are taken to the data map definition screen. You will need to define the *.QES file or SQL database's simple or detailed data-map, to match the one which was used to create the fixed-length ASCII file.
Once you have defined the data-map, select the relevant import type, indicate the path to the fixed-length ASCII source file, and click OK.
