Merge waves (AskiaSurf)

This AskiaSurf feature allows you to merge historic waves using AskiaAnalyse's export sub-population feature directly from within AskiaSurf.

To merge waves:

  1. In the edit menu, select merge waves.... The following dialog appears:
  2. Select the waves you want to merge by checking the corresponding boxes. These waves must be contiguous (no gaps between them) and already reconciled. Waves that are eligible to be merged are marked as available in the availability column. Unavailable waves are marked as not contiguous.
  3. When you have selected the waves you want to merge, click next. The following step appears:
  4. Enter a name for the wave that will result from the merge (or leave this as it is).
  5. If you want to create a backup of the resulting QEW, ensure create a backup copy of the .qew file is selected. This backup will be saved in a folder called Surf Backups, in the same directory as the QEW.
  6. Click next.
  7. Finally, click merge to begin the merge. A progress meter shows the progress of the merge operation. If you wish, you can cancel the merge during this process by clicking cancel.
  8. When the merge process has completed, click finish. The new wave that was created by the merge is displayed.
