The portfolio list displays a list of the Portfolios (collections of saved tables) that have been previously saved for easy retrieval. Each Portfolio can contain one or more crosstab definitions. For details on how to add a crosstab to a Portfolio, see saving a crosstab to a portfolio. Your Portfolios can then be shared with your co-workers and clients, whether or not they have askiavista accounts. For details, see sharing portfolios with clients and co-workers.
When you open the crosstabs in a Portfolio, they are automatically regenerated to reflect the latest data. This allows you to define your analyses and presentations while fieldwork is still in progress (i.e. on an incomplete data-set). At any stage during fieldwork, or when the interviews have been completed, you can simply re-open the analyses from the Portfolio, to see the current results.
To open the Portfolio list, select Portfolios in the drop-down list at the top of the left-hand panel.
Portfolios in the list are represented by folder icons. Click a portfolio to open it and reveal the saved tables it contains. You can organize the items within a portfolio by dragging and dropping them into the desired order. Note that you can only do this within a portfolio - you cannot drop items into a different portfolio.
At the top of the Portfolio list, you will find the following controls:
| Command name | Description |
|---|---|
Expand/collapse all |
Allows you to quickly open or close all of the Portfolios to reveal or hide the table definitions within them. |

When you select this command, the Portfolio section window appears, allowing you to specify a name and text description for the section. Note that the editor allows you to format the description text, with text emphasis like bold and italic, bulleted lists and text and background colours. You can also include hyperlinks, images and video clips. When you have finished defining the name and description, click Save to create the new portfolio section. |

Exports the selected crosstab as a MS Excel document. If you have multiple crosstabs selected, the first one is exported, and if you have a portfolio itself selected, then the entire portfolio is exported, with each crosstab on a separate tab of the workbook. |
Remove the selected item(s) |
Permanently deletes the selected cross tabs(s). To prevent accidental deletion of portfolio items, you are asked to confirm your action when you select this command (answer Yes or No). |
| Run portfolio item |
Creates a table from the selected crosstab definitions (if you have multiple definitions selected, the first item is run). After processing the definition, askiavista displays the crosstab. The variables in the crosstab definition are placed into the table definition's Note that the existing table definition is replaced by the portfolio item's definition. |
