Properties template (AskiaVista)

Properties templates allow you to apply a consistent look and feel to your table and charts. A template stores all of the table properties, and can quickly be applied to your analyses by selecting it from the Template list at the top of the properties panel. This not only saves you a great deal of time when setting up your tables, but it ensures that your output has a consistent style across multiple sets of tables.

Applying an existing template to your table definition

To apply a template to your table definition:

  1. At the top of the properties panel, open the Template list.
  2. Select the desired template from the list. Its settings are immediately applied to your table definition.

Saving a new template

To create a new table template:

  1. Change the table properties to your liking.
  2. At the top of the properties panel, click More, then Save as:

  3. Type a name for the new template, and click OK. A new template is created, based on the current table settings.

Saving changes to a template

As you make changes to the table properties, you may want to save them to the current template.

To save changes to the current template:

  1. Change the table properties to your liking.
  2. At the top of the properties panel, click Save the template:

Deleting a template

If you have a template that you no longer need, you can delete it from askiavista.

To delete a template:

  1. At the top of the properties panel, open the Template list and select the template you want to delete.
  2. At the top of the properties panel, click More, then Remove:

  3. When asked to confirm your actions, answer Yes. The template is removed from AskiaVista.

Sharing a template

You can share your templates with co-workers or clients.

To share a template:

  1. At the top of the Properties panel, open the Template list and select the template you want to share.

  2. At the top of the Properties panel, click Share the template:

  3. The sharing dialog opens; see below for details.

The Share template modal displays a list of the people with whom the template is currently shared.

To add a person to the list
  1. Click in the text-box at the bottom of the window. A drop-down list appears, containing the people who have accounts in the system.
  2. To quickly find someone in the drop-down list, start typing part of the person's name, and the list will be filtered to show the people whose names contain the letters you type.
  3. Select the person from the drop-down list which appears.
  4. Click Add (you can add several people at once if you wish; if you are adding multiple people, there is no need to click add after every name).
  5. Repeat steps 2-4 for each person you want to add.
  6. Click Share. The Share template window closes.
To remove a person from the list
  1. In the share template dialog, select the person in the list.
  2. Click Remove
