Question list (AskiaVista)

The question list displays the questions, loops and chapters that are available in the currently open questionnaire. To open the questionnaire list, simply select Questionnaire from the drop-down list at the top of the left-hand panel.

The variable types that may be present in the question list are as follows:

Container for a group of questions.

icn-qt-single-normal  Single coded question

Question that allows only one possible answer.

icn-qt-multiple-normal  Multi coded question

Question that allows one or more answers to be selected simultaneously.

icn-qt-numeric-normal Numeric question

Numerical question with or without bounds.

icn-qt-open-normal Open question

Question containing verbatim data (alphanumeric).

icn-qt-date-normal Date Question

Date format question.

icn-qt-loop-normal Loop

icn-qt-loop-iteration-count-entry-normal Loop (iteration count)

icn-qt-loop-preliminary-selection-normal Loop (preliminary selection)

icn-qt-loop-selection-each-iteration-normal Loop (selection each iteration)

A loop item contains one or more questions that were asked repeatedly - for example, a series of questions rating aspects of a product or service.

 

Other controls

At the top of the question list, you will find the following controls:

icn-collapse-normal(1) Expand/collapse all

Allows you to quickly open or close all of the chapters in the questionnaire. For more information, see opening and closing chapters.

Send to Allows you to place the selected question(s)/loop(s) into your table's rows, columns, or edges. For more information, see adding questions to your crosstab.

icn-search(1)Search questionnaire

Allows you to quickly find questions containing specific text (e.g. gender, regions, brand awareness). For more information, see search questionnaire.

Create one filter per response

This command is revealed if you click more:

icn-more

Creates a series of filters based on the selected question. When you select this command, the create a filter dialog appears. Select the responses for which you want to create filters, and de-select the responses for which you don't want to create filters. If the question has a long list of responses, you may want to use select all and unselect all in order to quickly select the specific set of responses for which you want to create filters.

In Name formatting, enter the structure of the name that will be used for each new filter. By default, this is {Q}: {R}, which means that the names of each filter will be the question name, then a colon, and finally the response name. For further details of the available keywords, see keywords.

If you select Overwrite filter if it already exists, any filter with the same name as any of the new ones will be deleted.

Survey settings

Opens the survey settings dialog, where you can view and change the settings for the currently-open questionnaire.
