Adding questions and loops to your crosstab (AskiaVista)

There are three ways to add a question or loop to your crosstab:

  1. simply drag and drop the question/loop straight from the question list into the Rows, Columns and Edges of your tab definition;
  2. drag and drop the questions/loops onto the Results panel (see below for details);
  3. select the question/loop in the question list and then, at the top of the list, click Send to. Finally, select Rows, Columns or Edges to add the question/loop to that area of your crosstab.

When dragging one or more questions to the results panel, you can decide which area of the table to place it in (rows, columns or edges):

To drag your question/s to the table's edges, hold down the SHIFT key; the Columns area reveals the Edges area, and you can drop the question/s there. You can also create a new filter based on the question/s by dragging them to the Filters area.

By default, when you drag and drop a single or multi-coded question into your table, all the responses are included. However, you can select specific responses if you wish.

To include only specific responses in your cross-tab:

  1. In the question list, click the question. Its responses appear in the response panel beneath the list.
  2. If the response distribution panel is closed, click icn-expand-normal(1) to expand it.
  3. Drag and drop a response to the Rows, Columns or Edges or even to the Results panel.
  4. You can select more than one response by holding down CTRL as you click, or select a block of consecutive responses by holding down SHIFT. You can then drag and drop these responses to the table.
