Rebuild tree structure with matching file (AskiaTools)

This function provides a way to apply the structure of one QES file to another. Shortcuts are used to match items in the questionnaire. The following aspects of the target QES are changed to reflect the structure of the source QES:

• Chapters that exist in the source but not the target are created in the target.

• When a question exists in the source but not the target, a chapter is created in the target with the same shortcut as the question.

• When a question exists in the target but not the source, it remains in the target, located just after the first known preceding question in the source.

To use this function:

1. In askiadesign or askiatools, open the QES whose structure you want to apply (the source questionnaire).
2. Export the QES as XML (instructions for askiatools; instructions for askiadesign).
3. In askiatools, open the *.QES file or SQL Server database whose structure you want to change (the target questionnaire).
4. In the tools menu, select rebuild tree structure with matching file.
5. When prompted, select your XML file.
