Reduce multiple responses to fit (AskiaTools)

Use this feature to rationalise a *.QES file after completion of the field study, deleting response fields of multi-coded questions which were not used.

For example, suppose we have a questionnaire with a multi-coded question which has 15 response items, out of which respondents are allowed to select a maximum of 10. After the fieldwork is completed, we realise that respondents never gave more than five answers, and thus there are five extra columns in the database containing nothing. Using this option will automatically delete any unnecessary fields in the database.

To access this function:

1. Open the *.QES file.
2. In the tools menu, select reduce multiple responses to fit.
