Languages and volume matching (AskiaSurf)

In AskiaSurf, the languages in your volumes affect matching. Before reconciling a volume, AskiaSurf will analyse the campaign and the source volume, to choose which of the languages is the most useful for matching, as follows:

Note: Shortcuts are language-independent (each question has only one Shortcut, regardless of how many languages are in the QES file).

Example of language choice and matching

Suppose we reconcile a source QES using the Welsh language, into a campaign that has not yet included any Welsh QES files. As soon as we reconcile a source QES that uses Welsh, the Welsh language is added to the campaign. If we wish, we may then set Welsh as the new default language for the campaign, and from that point onward, Welsh will be the preferred language for matching.

Note: It doesn't matter that at the time when this first Welsh QES was reconciled, that the campaign's Default language was not Welsh, since the latter would have no ShortCaptions or LongCaptions in Welsh that could be used for matching anyway.
