This AskiaSurf dialog allows you to view the differences between two responses that are imperfectly matched (highlighted in yellow), and quickly update the campaign response to match the source response if you wish. One of the responses will already be in the campaign (this is the campaign response), while the other will be in the volume source (this latter response is the source response).
The dialog is reached by right-clicking an imperfectly matched response in the reconciliation view and selecting view response differences.
At the top of the dialog, a list of the differences is displayed. The type of difference is shown, together with details of any changes you have made. Click an item to view further details:
in the details box, a description of the selected difference is shown;
in source, relevant details for the source response are shown (e.g. if the short captions are different for the two responses, this box displays the short caption of the response in the volume);
in campaign, relevant details for the campaign response are shown (e.g. if the short captions are different for the two responses, this box displays the short caption of the response in the campaign);
For some differences, you can manually edit the relevant aspect in the campaign response simply by typing in the campaign box. For example, if the response captions differ, you can manually edit the caption for the campaign to match that of the source response. Any changes you make in this fashion are applied only if you click OK to close the dialog.
The following commands are available:
Update all: This command will copy all values from the source response to the campaign response. In other words, the campaign response will be changed so that it is identical to the source response. Note: provided you use inheritance when adding future waves to the campaign, you will not need to perform this update again.
New response: This allows you to create a new response in the campaign identical to the source response, which will appear in the current and any subsequent waves.
When you select this command, you are asked to confirm your actions. Answering yes will create the new response.
The matching between the original campaign response and the source response is automatically broken, and the new campaign response is matched to the source response.
When you use this command, the response differences dialog closes automatically, and you are returned to the reconciliation view.
