Profile list (AskiaVista)

The Profile list shows a list of the profiles (commonly-used questions) that you have previously saved for easy retrieval: for example, questions that you need to re-use repeatedly. They are saved in the current questionnaire, and can be reused when you or one of your co-workers opens the questionnaire at a later date. When you save a question as a profile, you can decide whether to include all of the response categories, or just some of them, how the answers are grouped, etc. This information is then used whenever the profile is placed in any tables.

To open the Profile list, select Profiles in the drop-down list at the top of the left-hand panel.

At the top of the profile list, you will find the following controls:

Control name Description

icn-collapse-normal(2)  Expand/collapse all

icn-rename(1) Rename the first selected variable Allows you to rename a variable. If you have more than one selected, this commands renames the highest selected one in the list. Type a new name for the variable, then click Save (or Cancel, if you change your mind).
Share the selected profile Allows you to share the profile with co-workers of clients. See sharing profiles for details.
icn-remove(3) Remove the selected variable(s) Permanently deletes the selected variable(s). To prevent accidental deletion of a variable, you are asked to confirm your action when you select this command (answer Yes or No).

Your ability to add or view profiles depends on the privileges which have been granted to you by the system administrator. When full privileges are granted, you can add profiles for the use of other users in your user group and company. You can also make use of the favorites they have marked.

You can save questions in your table definition to a profile at any time. To do so, at the top of the Rows, Columns or Edges panels, click Save question(s) in profile.
