Response properties (AskiaVista)

The Response properties allow you to customize the content and appearance of the response or responses that are selected in the rows, columns or edges panels. The response properties can be found in the properties panel.

Your modifications to response properties will only be saved in the current table definition. If you want to use these properties in other table definitions, we recommend that you save them to a profile.

The following options are available:

Command name Description

Entry code

Displays the response's entry code. This cannot be edited.

Type

Displays the response type. This cannot be edited.

Name

The response text.

If you edit this property, caption is shown in the Custom setting column of the rows/columns/edges tab.

Factor

Allows you to assign a numeric value to a closed response item (e.g. you might assign 2 to very satisfied, 1 to satisfied, 0 to neither satisfied nor dissastisfied). You can then use the factor values for a calculation, such as a mean. In the box, enter the value you want to assign to the selected response.

Visible If this option is selected, the response will appear in the table; otherwise, it will be hidden.
Filter

Select the sub-population that you want to use for this response.

Note: If you leave a setting on Inherit, AskiaVista will use the settings specified in the General tab.

Level

Select the data level that you want to use for this response.

Note: If you leave this setting on Inherit, AskiaVista will use the settings specified in the General properties.

Weighting

Select the weighting that you want to use for this response.

Note: If you leave a setting on Inherit, AskiaVista will use the settings specified in the General tab.

Universe

Select the universe that you want to use for this response.

Note: If you leave a setting on Inherit, AskiaVista will use the settings specified in the General tab.

Bold

Set the response name to bold.

Italic

Set the response name to be italic.

Underline

Set the response name to be underlined.

Fore

Set the response name font color.

Back

Set the response name background color.

Allow sorting

If this option is selected, this response can be sorted (if sorting is applied to the question). If it is not selected, this response will not be sorted; it will always appear in its usual position.
