Table arithmetic (AskiaAnalyse)

Table arithmetic allows you to define sophisticated scripts that affect the appearance of your table, or to add figures to the table, based on the table contents. There are two main types:

Cleaning (post-processing) scripts

You can add a cleaning script to your table by entering it in the sorting tab of the table settings.

To enter a cleaning script:

  1. In the general tab of table definition, click settings....
  2. Open the sorting tab.
  3. In cleaning script, enter your script.
  4. You can open a larger window in which you can enter your script. To do so, click .
  5. Compile the script by clicking compile:

Calculation arithmetic

You can add calculation arithmetic to your table by adding a calculation arithmetic calculation to your table definition, and then by defining an appropriate script.

To enter a calculation arithmetic script:

  1. In the general tab of table definition, look through the list of calculation types, locate calculation arithmetic, and check (select) it. If it is not in the list, right-click and select insert, and then select calculation arithmetic in calculation type, and click OK.
  2. Right-click calculation arithmetic, and select properties.
  3. Click script....
  4. In the calculation arithmetic dialog, enter your script.
  5. If you want the result of the calculation to appear at the bottom of the table (like a mean or median), select appears like a stat calculation.
  6. If you want the result of the calculation to be a string, select result must be a string.
