The table definition window allows you to specify the content and layout of your results table. There are two ways to create a new table definition:
In the file menu, select new.
Alternatively, in the toolbar, click the following icon: ![]()
There are four tabs in the table definition window. Click any tab to open it (and reveal its contents) or to close it (and hide its contents). The tabs are as follows:
General: Allows you to set the main options for the table/chart. This includes the overall layout, what type of information will be included (totals, captions, etc.), what calculations will be included, and other options such as sorting. For detailed information, see general tab. Alternatively, follow the links below for detailed descriptions of each main option:
Title (this option is instead found in the advanced tab if you have the program option simplify general tab switched on).

Chart template (this option is instead found in the advanced tab if you have the program option simplify general tab switched on).
Rows and Columns: Allows you to view and edit the questions and responses that will appear in the rows and columns of your tables/charts. You can cycle through the rows, columns, and edges tabs by using the keyboard shortcut Tab or Shift-Tab).
Edges: Allows you to view and edit the questions and responses that will appear in the edges of your tables/charts. You can cycle through the rows, columns, and edges tabs by using the keyboard shortcuts TAB and SHIFT+TAB).
Advanced: This tab appears if you have the program option simplify general tab switched on. If enabled, it contains the more advanced options from the general tab (see above), thus making the general tab more straightforward to use.
Once you have completed your table/chart definition, click results at the bottom of the screen (or use the keyboard shortcut F5) to view the tables/charts you have specified.
