Delete

Delete the selected calculated variable.

Note: This option is only available if the currently selected variable is a calculated variable.
Generate fast metadata files

You may use this option to improve the performance of askiaanalyse when working either with standard surveys (.qes files) or when using askiasurf. This will reorganise the files so as to optimise their performance and may result in faster processing times, especially with larger or more complex sets of tables. It will result in the creation of some additional files:

  • For .qes files, a -meta.qex file is created and a regular .dat file is created if it doesn't already exist.
  • For Surf set-ups, each QES file has an accompanying -meta.qex created; the QEW has an accompanying -meta.qewx created and a .qew-meta.dat folder is also created in same directory.
Recalculate all variables

If your data changes, use this command to re-calculate the data in all calculated variables in your survey. You do not need to use this command when new data is added, as askiaanalyse will automatically recalculate variables in this situation. You only need to use this command in the following situations:

  • if the data has been modified (for example in askiaentry, or by running edit scripts), but the number of interviews has not changed;

  • for questions where the list of responses depends on the data (e.g. where find all values is used), you need to recalculate to see new responses appear.
