The general tab in the table definition window allows you to define the main properties and settings of your tables and charts.
simplify general tab is switched on, then certain advanced features will instead appear in the advanced tab, making the general tab easier for new AskiaAnalyse users. This is noted where appropriate in the descriptions below.The options are as follows:

simplify general tab switched on.The title for your table/chart specification. You can display a custom sub-title and table of contents, each of which can differ from the main title. To do so, separate the titles with double vertical bars, as follows: Title||sub title||table of contents title Note that If you omit the table of contents title, then it will be the same as the main title. If you omit the table of contents title and the sub-title, the sub-title will be blank, and the table of contents title will be the same as the main title. |

Allows you to define or select the sub-population that will be used in the table/chart. Note: you can drag and drop responses directly into the sub-population box. |

Waves |
Allows you to select wave or waves that will be included in the table/chart. This field is only applicable if you are working on an askiasurf multiple-wave project. |

Tab template |
Allows you to select or define the table model used. The table model defines what will be included in your tables (e.g. totals, captions) and options such as sorting and number formatting. The following buttons are available:
Settings: Change the settings for the table. |

Allows you to define and select the calculations that you want to display in your tables and charts. Select the items you want to appear, and ensure the items you want to omit are not selected. |
