Question properties (AskiaVista)

The question properties allow you to customise the content and appearance of the question or questions that are selected in the rows, columns or edges panels. The question properties can be found in the properties panel; scroll down until you find the section headed "n question(s) selected", where n is the number of questions you have selected.

Your modifications to question properties will only be saved in the current table definition. If you want to use these properties in other table definitions, we recommend that you to save them to a profile.

The following options are available:

Command name	Description
Shortcut	Displays the question's shortcut. This cannot be edited.
Type	Displays the question's type (single, numeric etc.). This cannot be edited.
Caption	The short question caption. If you edit this property, `Caption` is shown in the `Custom setting` column of the rows/columns/edges tab.
Filter	Select the sub-population that you want to use for this question. Note: if you leave a setting on `Inherit`, AskiaVista will use the settings specified in the general properties.
Level	Select the data level that you want to use for this question. If you leave this setting on `Inherit`, AskiaVista will use the settings specified in the general properties.
Weighting	Select the weighting that you want to use for this question. Note: If you leave a setting on `Inherit`, AskiaVista will use the settings specified in the general properties.
Universe	Select the universe that you want to use for this question. Note: if you leave a setting on `Inherit`, AskiaVista will use the settings specified in the general properties.
Bold	Set the question title to bold.
Italic	Set the question title to be italic.
Underline	Set the question title to be underlined.
Fore	Set the question title font colour.
Back	Set the question title background colour.
Allow sorting	`Disable`: No sort will be applied to this question. `Enable`: The responses will be sorted, depending on the sort options selected in the rows, columns and edges properties. `Inverse order`: The responses will be sorted in a decreasing order of responses (depending on the sort options selected in the rows and columns properties).
Statistic	If this option is selected, numeric statistic calculations are enabled for closed questions.
Numeric aggregation	This option specifies the calculation method used to aggregate the weighted numeric data. The methods are as follows: sum (the sum of values given as a response to the question) minimum (the minimum value given as a response to the question) maximum (the maximum value given as a response to the question) number of responses (the number of interviews in which the question was answered) mean (the mean value of responses given to the question) median (the median value of responses given to the question) standard deviation (the dispersion around the mean value of responses given to the question) variance (the mean of squares of deviations from mean for the responses given to the question).
Break table after	If selected, askiavista will insert a caesura, meaning cut the page after this question. If this option is activated, the text page break appears in the `Custom setting` column in the Row / Column / Edge panel.
