The variable list shows a list of the variables that have been defined in AskiaVista, for the currently open questionnaire. To display the variable list, select Variables in the drop-down list at the top of the left-hand panel.
From the variable list, you can add variables to your table definition, make them accessible to your clients and colleagues, create filters based on them, rename them and delete them. Note that you cannot define new variables from the variable list; to create new variables, you need to open the Variables view.
To select a variable in the list, simply click it. You can select a group of adjacent variables by holding down SHIFT as you click, or multiple specific variables by holding down CTRL as you click. Just as with questions, you can drag and drop variables into the Rows, Columns and Edges of your table definition, or directly onto the Results panel.
When you select a variable, the details of any responses are shown in the response panel.
